Dr. Shafia Talat grew up moving around the country, spending time in the Midwest before eventually settling in Northern Virginia, which she considers home. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Her interest in psychology stemmed from a genuine curiosity about people and the relationships that help build trust and connection.

She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD). During dental school, Dr. Talat actively sought a wide variety of clinical experiences to become a well-rounded provider and discovered a particular interest in implant dentistry, which she explored further through an implant clerkship in her fourth year.

Now living in Maryland, Dr. Talat enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is always on the lookout for a great coffee shop, loves exploring local cafés, and enjoys art and long walks as a way to unwind and recharge.
